Pacifica Tribune sold to Marinscope Community Newspapers

The Pacifica Tribune has been sold to Marinscope Community Newspapers, publishers of The Novato Advance, the San Rafael News Pointer, the Mill Valley Herald, the Twin City Times, the Ross Valley Reporter, and the Sausalito Marin Scope.

The Tribune has been owned by Digital First Media, one of the country’s largest newspaper publishers, and publisher of the San Jose Mercury-News, the Oakland Tribune, and pretty much every daily in the Bay Area and Monterey County, save the Chronicle.

As a weekly, the Tribune has always been an odd fit with the rest of DFM’s newspapers. We’re lucky they found a buyer with experience in publishing community weeklies.

“Publishing community newspapers like the Pacifica Tribune is our forte, and we could not be happier than to demonstrate that again in Pacifica,” said Marinscope owner Sherman R. Frederick.
