The PARCA (Virtual) Remarkable Challenge

I’m helping out with a non-profit whose annual fundraiser had to go virtual due to COVID. It’s typically an endurance run/bike ride that starts in Pacifica and runs up along by Half Moon Bay, but now that it’s a virtual challenge where participants from anywhere can run/walk/hike/ride/swim/do yoga or whatever it is they enjoy most to stay active!

The way it works is that you commit to a preset distance or frequency for each challenge and then track your progress from August 28 until the challenge ends on Nov. 14. Prizes are awarded to top finalists.

The goal is to raise $30k with 100% of the registration proceeds supporting low-income special needs families and individuals with developmental disabilities who have been deeply impacted by COVID-19 (e.g. lack of employment, childcare, other limited resources). The host non-profit is Partners and Advocates for Remarkable Children and Adults (PARCA).

Here’s the website for more information and how to register for the PARCA (Virtual) Remarkable Challenge:

Quick update: due to the smoke the event end date has been extended through the end of the year (December 31).
